Job Description
The Purchasing Manager will lead purchasing strategy and execution for major capital projects, overseeing the full procurement lifecycle from negotiation planning through vendor management and delivery of engineered equipment. This position ensures consistent purchasing processes, reporting, and performance across multiple active projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with project scope, budget, and timelines
• Lead vendor negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee engineered equipment deliveries
• Coordinate staffing/workload with procurement managers, EPCMs, and vendors
• Lead and mentor purchasing staff
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
• Conduct quality and compliance audits
• Partner with engineering and project teams to resolve issues and maintain vendor performance standards
• Strong preference for In-Office/NOLA based candidates
• Flexible/Hybrid schedule
• 3 days minimum in office, 1-2 days remotely
• May be open to fully remote with travel to NOLA regularly for the right candidate. Candidates must reside in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, or Texas to be considered for remote work.

Required Skills & Experience
• HS diploma + 10 yrs capital project procurement experience
OR Bachelor’s + 6 yrs related experience
OR Master’s + 4 yrs related experience
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Deep knowledge of capital project procurement and supply chain management
• Ability to interface with executives, project leadership, suppliers, and contractors
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Proficiency with major ERP & procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Ariba, Coupa) and strong Excel/analytics ability.
• Demonstrated supply chain risk mitigation experience, including identifying long lead risks, developing contingency plans, and managing vendor performance.
• Hands on experience coordinating logistics & delivery of engineered equipment, including expediting, freight management, and compliance with shipping standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering documents (P&IDs, spec sheets, drawings) and collaborate with engineering teams on technical alignment and issue resolution.
• Experience executing end to end purchasing for capital projects, including RFX creation, cost analysis, and evaluation of technically complex vendor proposals.
