A client in New Orleans is looking for an Embedded Engineering Team Lead to join their team! This role is onsite 5 days a week in downtown New Orleans, LA. As a Team Lead for Embedded Systems, you will mentor and support a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts, facilitate communication between various teams, and conduct performance reviews to support team growth. Your role involves developing and maintaining embedded software using C/C++, working with microcontrollers, and optimizing system performance. You will interface with sensors and communication protocols, debug hardware and software issues, and ensure system robustness through testing. Additionally, you will establish coding standards, promote best practices, and drive the adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and innovation. The ideal candidate has expertise in embedded software development, real-time systems, and hardware integration, along with strong leadership and project management skills.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
10-15+ years of experience in embedded systems development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded programming.
Experience with Zephyr RTOS or Nordic Semiconductor platforms.
Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
Experience with microcontrollers, state machines, ICs, and processors.
Proven ability to design modular, scalable embedded software architectures.
Understanding of data collection and analysis for sensor systems.
Familiarity with embedded board-level designs and ability to develop/debug low-level software
Experience with wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRa, etc.).
Understanding of FPGA, DSP, or AI/ML in embedded systems.
Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
Exposure to cybersecurity principles for embedded systems.
