Job Description

A new water treatment facility in Monroe, Louisiana is seeking a Lead Water Treatment Operator to oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of systems utilizing pressure filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) processes. This plant is being commissioned to temporarily provide flush and fill water for a nearby construction site. This role provides technical leadership and operational guidance to operators while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Lead Operator will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations and serve as a primary point of contact for operational decision-making. This is a full-time position that will require shift work and participation in an on-call rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, day shift). Shifts will be 12-hours, and consultants will be paid 1.5x overtime for hours above 40/week. The pay range for this position is between $43.00 - $50/hour, and will be determined based on technical qualifications and years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience

High school diploma or GED
Valid Water Treatment Operator certification (higher-grade preferred)
Supervisory or lead operator experience
Several years of water treatment experience (experience with chemical systems, pressure filters, ground water, or reverse osmosis experience strongly preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Flexible for shifts, weekends, and on-call work

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Advanced knowledge of pressure filtration and reverse osmosis processes
Familiarity with EPA and LDH regulations
Ability to interpret SCADA systems, flow diagrams, and P&IDs
Hands-on with membrane cleaning and filter backwashing
