Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an innovative and technically driven engineer to support KCC’s HVAC innovation efforts by researching, developing, and validating new and emerging technologies. This individual will evaluate novel HVAC concepts, materials, designs, processes, and controls, and help define structured approaches for implementing innovation across the organization. Daily responsibilities include designing and executing tests, performing engineering‑focused technical evaluations, and documenting findings through clear and accurate reports and presentations. The engineer will collaborate closely with New Product Development (NPD) and Product Engineering (PE) teams, develop and deliver HVAC‑related training materials, pursue funding and grant opportunities through industry associations, and engage externally to influence code changes and technology adoption. Success in this role requires excellent analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills, strong engineering judgment, high attention to detail, and a passion for challenging norms to bring new HVAC technologies to market.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering OR 6+ years of relevant HVAC experience
• Strong engineering background with experience evaluating new and emerging technologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 6–8 hours per day
• 3+ years of hands‑on HVAC industry experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or higher
• Experience with project scheduling and project management
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
