Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Relay Engineer for an extended contract opportunity for a large electric utility company. Primary responsibilities of this individual will include programming & configuring SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) relays to ensure the optimal performance of our distribution automation systems. Responsibilities include developing and implementing relay settings and commissioning relays. This individual will also work to enhance system reliability and performance, conducting tests and commission of SEL relays, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to relay programming and operation, and collaborating with engineers and field technicians to ensure seamless integration of relays into the distribution network. This role will join the distribution automation team in the centralized engineering line of business and the ideal candidate will have previous experience working in protection and control. This individual must be comfortable working in an office setting during the week and have a general flexibility to accommodate the needs of the field crews.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information technology, or related field
3-5+ years Cisco experience or telecom/communications experience
Professional working experience in R&D or any development of new technologies
Great communication skills (stakeholders, engineers, etc.)
Microsoft Office Experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Professional working experience with PowerBase
· Utility industry experience
· PNC experience
· 1+ year of professional working experience scripting/programming (Python, Java, SQL, etc.)
Knowledge of SEL Relays
