Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Scientist for a remote direct placement opportunity with an employee-focused digital learning company. The Data Scientist II builds machine learning solutions that are core to the product, optimizing the platform through robust algorithms, experimentation, and interactive dashboards as a key member of the Data Science team. This role collaborates cross functionally to deliver data science and machine learning solutions that improve internal operations and SaaS offerings, clearly communicating methods and findings to stakeholders via written reports, presentations, dashboards, and APIs. The Data Scientist II designs, trains, and ships machine learning models as scalable production services, extracts and transforms data in reliable, repeatable pipelines, and empirically explores novel datasets to uncover opportunities that enhance predictive performance. To ensure quality and longevity, the role also develops tooling that supports unit testing, automated deployment testing, and comprehensive model performance tracking. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with the best data science team in Ed Tech.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience with AWS and Databricks
Experience with MLOps and LLMOps
4-5 years of professional work experience or commensurate academic research experience
Advanced skills in Python and Natural Language Processing experience
Advanced education (PhD or Master’s)
Familiarity with Deep Learning methods and libraries (e.g. transformers, PyTorch, fast.ai)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Educational background in quantitative field (science, math, statistics, engineering, etc.)
Experience with Docker/containerized workflow
Experience with Generative AI/building LLM-powered applications
Experience in the education space
