Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Operations Accountant for a full-time, direct-hire role based in Georgetown, KY. This Accountant will join an established team helping support the organization holistically. The organization has multiple sections that operate independently that this team supports at a high level to ensure unity across the organization from an accounting standpoint. This role will require to work onsite in Georgetown Kentucky 4 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain Corporate Accounting policies and procedures
• Support accurate financial reporting by the company in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
• Maintain effective internal controls within the department
• Support annual financial statement audit and quarterly reviews
• Provide technical accounting expertise and research complex accounting issues
• Monthly financial statement review and variance analysis
• Obtain variance explanations and report to management
• Prepare and review monthly Corporate balance sheet reconciliations
• Review post-closing reports and deliverables
• Develop and maintain financial reports within reporting software
• Resolve problems & issues and implement methods for continuous improvement
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes
• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Execute consolidation processes for internal and external reporting (monthly, quarterly, year-end, and financial statement disclosures)
• Review and analyze subsidiary reporting
• Collaborate with subsidiaries on accounting and reporting matters
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process
• Manage lease accounting activities
• Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis
• Perform technical accounting research and analysis
• Handle other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong month-end close experience or public accounting background
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (IF function, index match, xlookup, complex formulas, etc.)
• Strong GAAP and IFRS understanding

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Background with Big 4 firms (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG)
• CPA certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
• Experience implementing process improvements or building reports from scratch
• Budget vs Actual analysis experience
