Job Description

A respected engineering firm in the Wichita area seeks a detail-oriented Construction Materials Engineer / Project Manager to oversee civil, environmental, geotechnical, or materials engineering projects from initiation to completion. This role ensures projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage small to mid-sized projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Collaborate with clients to define scope and expectations; maintain clear communication throughout.

Lead team safety initiatives and enforce compliance with safety protocols.

Troubleshoot issues to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.

Supervise project staff, assign tasks, and track progress toward key milestones.

Prepare designs, reports, specifications, and related documentation.

Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors for technical and operational support.

Monitor project risks and follow company guidelines for mitigation.

Approve invoices, draft change orders, and assist with collections.

Ensure quality assurance at every phase; engage APR at critical junctures.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-15+ years of experience managing materials construction inspection projects
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering REQUIRED if less than 10 years
• Experience managing a team and working with an end client
• Strong experience with CMT rules and regulations
