Job Description

The Director of Engineering oversees all aspects of the Engineering Department, from project conception through completion. This role is responsible for managing resources, schedules, budgets, and ensuring project quality and timely delivery. Collaboration across departments—including Project Management, Pre-Fabrication, and Production—is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop the engineering team through coaching, feedback, training opportunities, and career development plans.
- Lead and manage engineering projects within defined timelines and budgets.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers and designers.
- Develop detailed project plans and specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee design budgets, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Monitor project scope, schedules, and costs using appropriate tools and metrics.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration across all departments.
- Evaluate and recommend tools or software to improve efficiency and manage project backlog.
- Generate weekly progress reports and presentations to update stakeholders.
- Ensure quality control processes are followed to minimize design errors.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical
- 3+ years of Engineering Management experience
- Strong understanding of Engineering principles, methodologies, and standards.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Manufacturing / Industry experience
- Leadership training
- Design / 3d modeling software experience (Solid Edge)
