Job Description
A major Finance Technology client of Insight Global is looking to add an experienced Credit Underwriter to their Credit and Risk team. The main priority for this person will be to support credit decisions for large public and privately held business across a variety of industries and locations. This senior-level individual contributor will be responsible for evaluating new credit applications and credit limit increase requests for existing customers. The role involves deep financial analysis, writing detailed credit memos, and making independent credit decisions within delegated authority. The ideal candidate will have experience in C&I environments such as banks, fintechs, or large corporations with in-house credit teams. This person will be responsible for navigating complex stakeholder relationships, including internal partners, external clients, and executive committees, and must demonstrate strong executive presence. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial statements (not bank statements or consumer credit reports), managing risk concerns, and contributing to the scaling of a fast-paced, innovation-driven organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
Evaluate international, multi-industry commercial credit applicants for creditworthiness, assessing complex financial documents, industry/country risks, and payment behavior profiles.
Leverage internal and external data to assess risk and creditworthiness.
Roughly 70% of time is spent heads down doing individual work, while you will be interacting with other team members or external clients for the other 30%
Example: for Best Buy they will underwrite for credit risk for their buyers, provide credit availability, outsource the entire order to cash process, assist in making credit decisions, and evaluate financial documentation

Required Skills & Experience
BS in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting
C&I (Commercial and industrial) credit: loans or lines of credit extended to businesses for operational or expansion purposes
Previous experience working at larger banks, Finance Technology companies or as a Credit Manager for large company
Not looking for someone that has done mortgage underwriting
Used to exercising over 500k in unsecured credit authority
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Fluent in other languages
SalesForce Service Cloud or Moodys software experience
