Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join a client of ours in the Kansas City area. This person will be leading a small team to support 3 core products for the organization. In this role, you will work closely with the CTO to execute multiple large-scale projects in parallel, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. You will collaborate with product owners to understand project requirements, refine user stories, and establish accurate estimates, schedules, and timelines while maintaining clear and efficient communication across all levels of the organization. You will also manage a team of software developers, overseeing their day-to-day work, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and conducting quarterly and annual performance reviews. Acting as the technical architect and lead developer, you will perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and implement best practices to maintain high-quality deliverables. Additionally, you will oversee recruitment activities and provide training to engineering personnel to build and sustain a strong, capable team.

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of experience as a hands on engineer
• 3+ years of in a leadership/mentorship/management role
• Database expertise (MySQL and Redshift ideally), with large amounts of data
• Experience with PHP 7 or above
• UI experience with JQuery
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS is preferred)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Background in reporting, analytics, data engineering, etc.
