Job Description

A client of insight Global is looking for a Senior Substation Maintenance Planner to join their team in the Kansas City metro area. The Senior Planner would work directly under the Substation Planning & Scheduling Manager. This role supports the planning and coordination of substation maintenance to improve efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Regional Scheduler and Supervisor to develop complete work packages, including:
Step-by-step instructions and procedures
Equipment specs, drawings, and materials lists
Estimates for labor, tools, materials, and services
· Improve equipment reliability through pre-job planning, including:
Site walkdowns and task organization
Coordination with internal and external teams
Clearance requests and material staging
Communication of schedules to crews and managers
· Prioritize and manage maintenance tasks based on risk to equipment, safety, reliability, and the environment.
· Support reliability initiatives such as PM Optimization, RCM, and Root Cause Analysis.
Continuously improve planning processes using best practices and field feedback.

Required Skills & Experience

· Highschool diploma
· Experience in maintenance management (specifically electrical maintenance)
AND/OR experience working with substations (substation scheduler, substation construction/construction support)
· Able to read and interpret information from equipment files, drawings, reports, and manuals
· Able to perform basic mathematical calculations involved in planning, scheduling, estimating, and purchasing
· Experience with a work management software (SAP, oracle, MAXIMO, etc.)
Valid driver's license

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Technical degree or Bachelors degree
· "Expert" level knowledge of safe work practices regarding the repair and maintenance of substation equipment
Ex. Transformers, Circuit breakers, fuses, capacitors, distribution bus, voltage regulators, etc.
Proficiency in MAXIMO
