Job Description

An employer is seeking a Project Engineer for a 6-month contract opportunity, with potential for contract extension, in the Iowa City, IA area. The Project Engineer will support a product supply engineering team within a manufacturing site, leading multiple small-to-mid-scale capital and equipment projects. This individual will operate independently, managing project execution from planning through validation while coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders. The role is highly project-focused, involving budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of manufacturing and equipment-related initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical)
3+ years of experience managing capital or manufacturing-related engineering projects
Strong project management skills (budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination)
Ability to work independently in an onsite, fast-paced production environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Prior experience supporting similar CPG manufacturing environments
Exposure to equipment installation, upgrades, or process improvements
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes and budgets
Familiarity working with cross-functional teams and external vendors
