Job Description
Insight Global is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager / Senior Engineer to support commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is ideal for an experienced civil/structural engineer who wants full ownership of projects, direct client interaction, and a clear path for continued professional growth.
Construction Inspectors and Project Engineers in this role spend the majority of their time supporting construction-related activities that require specific certifications and field experience. You will oversee inspections, review technical data, manage project budgets, and ensure work is delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with all applicable codes and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage construction materials testing projects from proposal through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, leading pre-construction meetings, ongoing project updates, and closeout discussions (virtual or in-person)
- Review construction drawings, structural plans, and specifications to ensure project alignment and compliance
- Monitor project budgets, track deviations, and proactively communicate updates to clients
- Review field reports from technicians and ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Analyze and interpret field and laboratory testing data to verify compliance with project requirements
- Oversee inspections across multiple disciplines, including:
- Structural steel, Concrete, Masonry, Fireproofing
- Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work, RFIs, schedules, and invoices
- Maintain project documentation, including uploading reports and deliverables to internal systems for client access and distribution
- Support pre-task planning with field technicians and ensure alignment before project execution
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers and field staff
- Participate in business development efforts, including proposal drafting and client relationship building
Salary Range: $77,200 to $98,400 (potentially higher with certain qualifications)

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, civil engineers or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in construction materials, testing, project management or related services
• Valid driver’s license with drug screening
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure
- Master’s degree in engineering
- ICC or NICET certifications
