Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support large-scale capital projects in Woodburn, IN. This role is responsible for completing the electrical portion of major projects, coordinating engineering deliverables, and assisting management with pre-studies for deployment and development initiatives in the Electrical and Automation fields. The engineer will execute design studies, oversee procurement and fabrication, and manage installation, commissioning, and startup of equipment in an industrial plant environment. This position is critical to ensuring successful project execution and supporting plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Complete electrical design and deliverables for large capital projects.
• Assist management with pre-studies for deployment and development projects in Electrical and Automation.
• Execute design studies and follow procurement and fabrication of equipment.
• Manage installation, commissioning, and startup of equipment in an industrial plant environment.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables across all contributors for assigned projects.
• Support projects in Prep, tire building, curing, and after-cure process areas.
• Provide coverage during project installations and start-ups, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Work plant shutdowns as required.
• Maintain strong communication and collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in electrical design and automation systems within an industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Comfortable working with large industrial equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• Experience with Rockwell PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, GRAFCET); Siemens experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design standards; SEE Electrical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control technologies (Control Techniques, SEW MOVIMOT, Rockwell).
• Knowledge of HMI systems (FactoryTalkView ME Studio preferred).
• Understanding of industrial network protocols (Ethernet, ControlNet, Data Highway+).
• Exposure to vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise, Gocator) and robotics (Fanuc, ABB).
• Project management experience, including scheduling, cost tracking, and equipment procurement.
