Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the team of a tire manufacturing company in Fort Wayne, IN.  This role is responsible for leading the electrical and automation engineering scope of large capital projects within an industrial manufacturing environment. The Electrical Engineer supports projects from early design and pre‑studies through installation, commissioning, and startup, while also coordinating engineering deliverables across disciplines.  The role supports capital projects across multiple production areas (prep, tire building, curing, and post‑process operations) and works closely with internal engineering, maintenance, and project teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, and on‑time execution. This position is on‑site and execution‑focused, with some flexibility in work schedule to support plant shutdowns and start‑ups.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
Experience completing electrical design and automation programming for industrial or manufacturing equipment
Hands‑on experience with PLC programming, preferably Rockwell-based (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, GRAFCET)
Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motion control systems
Ability to support projects through the full lifecycle: design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and acceptance
Experience working with electrical design standards and CAD-based design tools
Willingness to support plant shutdowns, weekend, and holiday work as required by project needs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

2–4 years of engineering experience in industrial manufacturing or capital project environments
Experience with HMI development, particularly PanelView or FactoryTalk View ME
Exposure to Siemens PLC systems
Experience with controls networks and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet-based systems, ControlNet, Data Highway)
Experience with motion platforms or drive systems such as SEW, Control Techniques, or Rockwell
Vision system experience (e.g., inspection, measurement, defect detection)
Robotics exposure (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
Experience with project coordination or project management activities
Ability to support equipment safety and ergonomic risk assessments
Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and limited international)
