Day-to-Day
The ServiceNow Admin is responsible for the ongoing development and configuration of the ServiceNow environment. As a ServiceNow Admin, you will apply your knowledge of ServiceNow and the underlying development languages to perform the development and configuration of the ServiceNow product. In addition, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration of the product to support Ivy Tech Community College users. This will include supporting processes like Request, Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Asset, Service Catalog, Knowledge, Service Portal, and other service modules as well as custom-scoped applications that deliver enterprise-wide business processes to our customers. The ideal candidate is a master of ServiceNow administration and has development experience.
- Perform UI customizations and configuration leveraging ServiceNow Development languages.
- Perform ServiceNow implementation tasks including but not limited to configuration, integration, testing, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Work with business users to identify, build, and refine business requirements and workflows.
- Develop systems integrations and process automation-- fully utilizing the platform's workflow capabilities.
- Develop robust workflows using JavaScript.
- Configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs including advanced scripting of each (including CMS/Service Portal).
- Partner with the team and configure Notifications, UI Pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, etc. in ServiceNow.
- Schedule & verify instance clones.
- Support update set creation and migration.
- Perform error identification/remediation across all instances, including working directly with end users to resolve issues.
- Contribute to ServiceNow releases.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.
- Develop, configure, and improve core and custom applications.
- Create technical documentation of custom applications.
- Creating test scripts for QA processes.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree in IT related field is required with one to three years of work-related experience or an associate degree or industry-related certification along with 5 or more years of related work experience.
- Strong HTML and JavaScript experience including the usage of jQuery, Bootstrap, and Angular JS.
- Experience in an enterprise relational database software system (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and functional users to create and maintain effective workflows.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs.
- Ability to consume documentation and translate it to real workflows in the ServiceNow system
