Insight Global's client is a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy integrator with decades of experience implementing energy savings projects.
They are focused on delivering impactful clean energy and industrial efficiency strategies across the Midwest and beyond. They provide turnkey services in solar PV, energy assessments, utility cost reduction, and demand-lowering technologies for industrial and commercial clients. As their team continues to grow, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to help them continue to advance forward. Their team is driven by performance, sustainability, and long-term client partnerships.
Position Overview
This individual will play a key role in identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities across both clean/renewable energy sectors and industrial efficiency landscapes. This position is fully remote and would involve 50-70% travel. Compensation provided is comprised of base salary, commission, and bonus.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of how energy touches manufacturing, operations, and sustainability goals, and is excited to develop solutions that lower both energy costs and carbon footprints for clients while improving efficiencies and resiliency.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage with industrial, commercial, and institutional prospects interested in energy solutions (solar, energy efficiency, demand reduction).
Lead the full sales lifecycle: outreach, discovery, proposal development, and deal closing.
Collaborate with internal engineering, preconstruction, and operations teams to deliver tailored proposals.
Educate prospects on available technologies, financial structures (e.g., PPAs, leases, energy services agreements), and incentive programs.
Track market trends, policy developments, and competitive intelligence across both the renewable and industrial energy sectors.
Represent RPG Energy Group at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Maintain a strong CRM record and provide regular sales forecasts and reporting to leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in business development or technical sales in energy, industrial systems, or related sectors.
- Business to Business experience
- Working knowledge of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, battery storage, etc.) and/or industrial energy systems (HVAC, compressed air, process optimization).
- Experience engaging with mid-sized to large industrial clients and decision-makers (C-Level, Operations, Facilities)
-Proven track record of developing opportunities from initial conversation through contract execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (MBA or technical certifications are a plus) or equivalent experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Dodge, Builder, Zoominfo, and other sales technologies
- Any mechanical engineering knowledge or understanding
