Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to work onsite at one of their utility companies in Indianapolis, IN. This role manages the planning, design, and execution of multiple engineering projects, coordinating schedules across contractors and plant personnel. On a day-to-day basis, they provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable service, while keeping key records up to date—including drawings, inspection reports, and compliance documentation within the steam plant. They track project budgets, update data in Unifier, and help with capital forecasting. The role also supports continuous improvement efforts (like thermal performance and risk management), mentors engineering staff, and stays current on new technologies and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
Prior experience managing or supervising a team
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited or equivalent).
10+ years of related experience in mechanical/maintenance
Strong multi‑discipline project engineering experience
Deep knowledge of steam & chilled water plant operations — combustion, water chemistry, piping, machinery, electrical distribution, controls.
Working knowledge of major codes & standards (ASME, NEC, IBC, OSHA, EPA, IDEM, etc.).
Plant safety & environmental compliance knowledge.
Ability to work in office + field environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Licensed Professional Engineer or similar certification.
Advanced engineering design knowledge and ability to interpret complex deliverables.
Understanding of utility systems (gas, water, wastewater).
Active involvement in industry associations (IDEA, ASHRAE, CIBO, etc.).
