Test, calibrate, repair, or replace instrumentation, and process analyzers by using specialized equipment including, but not limited to, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, voltmeters, AMP and OHM meters, capacitor, transistor testers and laboratory test solutions
Troubleshoot instrumentation, electronic and electrical problems using schematics, diagrams, and manuals
Perform lock-out of high voltage equipment (50 to 480) as needed to perform repairs
Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system problems using PLC and HMI software
Documents, tests, and, calibrates results using forms and computer systems in compliance with EPA, IDEM and Citizens Water Authority regulations
Participate in or conduct research on instrumentation operations in response to questions from environmental professionals
Update schematics, wiring diagrams, forms, standard operating procedures, and manuals as necessary
Conduct equipment troubleshooting and research through online and direct contact with vendors and consultants
Obtain quotes and initiate procurement process to complete work

5+ years of experience as an Instrumentation technician working in an industrial process environment
Level I Control System Technician (CST) Certificate or the ability to obtain this certification within two years of starting the role
Experience with various control signal transmitters and industrial instrumentation such as: flow meters (magnetic), pressure sensors, temp sensors, PH probes, ammonia, chlorine and solids analyzers, ORP systems, CEMS, radar and pressed air sensors, and other wastewater specific systems/analytical instruments
Ability to read and understand operating manuals, written instructions, blueprints, and technical materials
Knowledge of Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Arc Flash, Fall Protection and Confined Space OSHA safety procedures
Experience working with and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC's and PLC automation devices
