Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Service Engineer – Lab Equipment for a leading research-focused client in the agricultural/scientific industry. This individual will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and validation of a wide range of laboratory instruments, including HPLC, GC, and mass spectrometry systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in laboratory equipment service, with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, supporting research operations, maintaining compliance with GLP standards, and reducing downtime through proactive maintenance and efficient problem-solving.

Required Skills & Experience

4–6 years of lab equipment maintenance/service experience
Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, validating, and repairing lab equipment & analytical instruments such as: HPLC, GC, Agilent Mass Spectrometry (MS) or Shimadzu MS
4–6 years of experience in Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering
Strong understanding of mechanical, low-voltage electrical, and software troubleshooting
Experience documenting service activities and maintaining equipment records
Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) compliance
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

4–6 years of experience in Agriculture or related industry
Experience with non-analytical lab equipment (centrifuges, incubators, liquid handlers)
Experience using work order / asset management systems
Background supporting research labs or scientific environments
Exposure to lab automation systems
Experience working in regulated environments (agriculture, pharma, biotech)
Strong time management and prioritization skills
