Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager II, III, or IV to lead and deliver complex industrial capital projects. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the full CAPEX project lifecycle, from business case development, feasibility studies, scope definition, and cost estimating through engineering oversight, contractor management, construction execution, commissioning, startup, and operational handoff. The Engineering Project Manager will serve as the primary leader and decision-maker for capital investments, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, contractors, operations, maintenance, procurement, and engineering teams to safely execute projects within an active manufacturing environment. The work environment is one of the largest integrated steel mills in North America. The Engineering PM will spend significant time in the field walking projects, inspecting work areas, and coordinating with contractors, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. Operate in a heavy industrial setting with exposure to loud, dirty, and physically demanding conditions.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead industrial CAPEX projects from planning through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance.
• Oversee equipment installations, facility upgrades, and plant improvement initiatives within an active manufacturing environment.
• Maintain a strong field presence by walking projects, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and supporting construction activities.
• Coordinate planned outages, shutdowns, and major capital improvements while minimizing impact to production.
• Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, forecasts, and recommendations to plant and engineering leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ Years of Experience managing CAPEX projects with budgets of $1M+
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, contractors, and technical project requirements while driving projects to completion
• Proven experience leading industrial CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning, owning project scope, budget, schedule, safety, and overall project success.
• Strong project management background with expertise in planning, cost control, risk management, contractor/vendor oversight, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering with the ability to understand technical designs, equipment installations, and large-scale facility upgrades.
• Experience working in heavy industrial settings such as steel, metals, mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or other large-scale manufacturing operations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with planned outages, turnarounds, major equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
• Proficiency in tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365
