Job Description
Our customer is seeking a Site field engineer with focus on Mechanical/Plumbing Infrastructure. This resource will provide support for the local construction and commissioning teams to cover an expected increase in project load for the stated services termIt is expected that much of this scope will be performed at the site in-person, with periodic ability to work from the firm or remotely at home.
The individuals performing services will report directly to the client Data Center Services (DCS) Project Manager. Initial training will be provided by the DCS managers but it is expected that subsequent training for new individuals will be managed by the selected firm.
All individuals of the selected firm that are working with client information will be required to comply with the client’s Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and will be expected to keep confidential information secure.
This service is not intended to take the place of the responsibilities of the Engineer of Record for the projects and there are no requirements for providing PE stamped or sealed documents while performing the services outlined below.
1. Administrative Services (25% effort):
a. Participate in commissioning meetings
i. Understand single line diagrams, sequence of operations and operational considerations to avoid conflicts with operations or downstream efforts.
i. Provide input on program and site specific requirements to subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with requirements.
a. Submittal/RFI Reviews
i. Review of submittals for temporary provisions. Ie. temp power, temp cooling, load banking, flush and fill, etc.
i. Review of proposed substitution requests prior to submission to EoR.
i. Review EoR comments on returned submittals to ensure they meet specifications and drawings.
a. Work with GC and subs to ensure technical systems like the BMS, PMS, etc. are progressing to meet milestones.
a. Review internal Engineering Bulletins for possible implementation on the local projects.
a. Temporary Services planning
i. Review temporary services plans from the GC to ensure they are complete, cost effective and capture required scope.
i. Assist with temporary service equipment drawings and submittal review.
i. Use client tools to broadcast identified issues that may impact other sites and review possible solutions.
a. Review coordination process
i. Attend GC weekly meetings for MEP and A/E coordination.
i. Review coordination Revit model for early identification of problems areas include service and operational access requirements.
a. Review change orders for technical content.
a. Review Method of Procedures (MOPS) for various warranty work, commissioning tasks and equipment start-up to ensure the procedures are safe and reliability is maintained.
a. Weekly meetings with Data Center Services (DCS) Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
2. Site Inspections (75% effort):
a. First of a Kind installation reviews
i. On site review of installation for compliance with site requirements and Operational staff expectations.
i. Set the standard for future installations to be best in class.
a. Commissioning Support
i. Cover non-critical system checks. It should be noted that a Commissioning firm is under contract to establish and manage scripts and that the expectation for this scope is observation and support only.
i. Review relevant test reports, ie. Test and Balance for non-conforming data.
i. Assist with troubleshooting when commissioning issues arise.
a. QA/QC inspections
i. Review installation for compliance with contract documents and submittals.
i. Support QA/QC teams in issue resolution and correction.
i. Review of punchlist items and issue resolution
i. Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Issue review and resolution participation. ACC is the construction management tool used for all issue observations and solution tracking. This team shall fully utilize ACC for documenting field issues, discussing field observations with contractors, and reviewing validity of observations raised by various field resources.
**Candidate will require to undergo ACC training provided by Client for access to ACC**
a. As-built and redline progress tracking and drawing reviews.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ Years of working experience as a Mechanical Engineer (Degree Preferred)
Experience with large-scale HVAC, Pipe Fitting, Chiller Maintenance & Welding
