Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer for one of our largest material handling clients in Columbus, Indiana. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing the testing of existing and new OEM forklifts and components. This project involves studying the next generation electrical systems for heavy equipment projects. This engineer will be responsible for planning and developing the test strategy along with the characterization and determination of new tests to be performed. You will develop new test procedures as needed for the telematics and electrical systems. As the Electrical Test Engineer, they will draft the test plans and meet with design engineers, development engineers and quality team members to confirm the details of the test plan. This resource will plan and specify new equipment needed for telematics testing, component and system level electrical testing as well as Acquiring and processing test data, analyzing the results and providing engineering interpretations. They will participate in scope of work discussions and in test issue or failure discussions and process. This resource will review test reports completed by test technicians or other test engineers and prepare documentation related to testing for reporting in meetings and design reviews. The engineer will plan and implement improvements to processes and procedures related to testing, planning, and reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

1-3 years of electrical testing experience in completing system level, component level, or board level tests in a major OEM

Testing types: boards, thermal, temperature & humidity, controller, and end to end testing

Experience with CAN communication and CANBus testing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with completing telematics tests

Experience within test automation

Experience creating test plans and procedures

Working knowledge in RF testing, EMS, electrostatic discharge and electric noise testing
