10+ years of Operations Management experience in this setting
Able to travel 80% domestically to job sites
Strong background in HDD equipment, drilling fluids, and underground utility installation
Demonstrated experience in bids & estimating, operations, mobilization, and rig maintenance programs
Strong MS Suite (Excel**)

Insight Global is hiring a HDD Manager for a Directional Drilling customer in the Gilberts, IL area. As an HDD Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of horizontal directional drilling operations. You will be responsible for managing crews, equipment, safety, and project deliverables while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and environmental regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Lead and manage HDD operations on-site, including drill rig setup, bore path planning, and execution.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment.
Supervise and mentor superintendents, foremen, and drilling crews.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control procedures.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to drilling operations and equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation of drilling logs, as-builts, and daily reports.
Identify new HDD opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.
