Job Description

Role Summary: We are seeking an Engineer to support the execution of our utility customer's Records Digitization Support initiative by providing technical oversight, field execution support, quality control, and process discipline for the digitization of physical utility records. This role will work closely with scanning technology, project leadership, business analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure physical records are accurately inventoried, scanned, attributed, packaged, uploaded, and quality-checked in accordance with the agreed scope of work, naming conventions, folder structure, and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Records Inventory & Preparation: Review physical records, drawings, prints, and aperture cards to support the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive Records Inventory Tracker. Ensure each record is assigned or associated with a unique identifier and that available attributes are captured consistently before scanning and packaging activities begin.
• Scanning Execution Support: Support onsite scanning operations for standard-size records, large-format prints, and aperture cards using appropriate scanning hardware and software. Ensure scanned images are clear, complete, legible, and suitable for downstream file conversion, attribution, packaging, and upload.
• Technical Record Review: Interpret utility record information, drawing details, asset references, revision data, material information, installation details, and other engineering-related attributes to ensure records are classified and attributed accurately.
• File Naming & Packaging: Apply agreed naming conventions and folder structures to digitized records, including record attributes such as state, job name or number, file type, asset ID, drawing number, revision number, and other required metadata fields.
• Attribution Accuracy: Capture, validate, and maintain record attributes of attributes including file type, drawing type, filename, drawing number, revision number, revision date, line or asset identifiers, state, material type, installation year, and other client-defined attributes.
• Upload & System of Record Support: Assist with the upload or bulk transfer of finalized scanned files and associated attribution data into Exelon’s system of record, file transfer portal, or other approved repository. Verify that uploaded records are accessible, correctly named, and aligned to the required folder structure.
• Quality Control: Perform quality checks on scanned records, packaged files, naming conventions, metadata, and upload accuracy. Identify discrepancies, document defects, support corrections, and help maintain a transparent quality control process that improves team accuracy over time.
• Progress Reporting Support: Provide accurate production updates, issue details, quality findings, and risk inputs to support weekly stakeholder reporting. Help track weekly production, inventory progress, schedule performance, cost performance, risks, issues, and challenges.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager, Business Analyst, designers II, and Exelon stakeholders to clarify record attributes, resolve missing information, validate exceptions, and ensure digitization activities meet client expectations.
