Job Description

The QC/Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet strict quality standards and adhere to all applicable safety regulations. This role oversees all field quality control measures and ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, ASTM, AASHTO standards, as well as internal protocols. The position requires collaboration with field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to ensure efficient delivery of quality results in a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and enforce Quality Control procedures across all phases of construction.
Conduct regular field testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products at production, shipping, and job site stages.
Adhere to testing protocols including ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT methodologies.
Accurately document, interpret, and report test results; ensure timely entry into appropriate databases.
Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness to meet internal and regulatory standards.
Perform periodic inspections, calibration, and maintenance of testing and safety equipment.
Monitor stockpile quality; inspect material sources and truckloads at job sites to avoid contamination and segregation.
Immediately report any signs of contamination to senior management.
Conduct routine safety and equipment inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve quality or safety-related issues in coordination with project teams.
Ensure all documentation, including daily QC/Safety reports and logs, is accurate and submitted on time.
Support project teams with on-site training and promote continuous improvement in safety and quality practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

35 years of quality control and/or safety experience in construction or a related field.
Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, OSHA, and DOT standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and safety regulations.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems related to quality/safety documentation.
Ability to work independently, travel to job sites, and perform physical tasks required in construction environments.
