Job Description
A large retail company is seeking an experienced Network Migration Specialist to support a critical infrastructure refresh project, migrating 175+ retail stores from Meraki MS210 to Juniper EX4100 switches. This role involves real-time remote support during store migration windows, working directly with onsite technicians to ensure successful cutover operations.
Pay rate: $20-$25/hr
Key Responsibilities:
• Remote Migration Support: Guide onsite technicians through Meraki to Juniper switch replacements during store migration windows
• Pre-staging Coordination: Assist with switch pre-configuration and preparation (either direct or vendor coordination)
• Real-time Validation: Verify switch configurations, stacking cabling, and device connectivity during live migrations
• Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve configuration issues and provide immediate technical guidance to field technicians
• Post-Migration Verification: Confirm all devices (POS, WiFi APs, etc.) come online successfully after switch replacement
• Daily Recap Meetings: Participate in 7:00-8:00 AM CST debriefings with assigned project teams
• Documentation: Maintain migration logs and configuration documentation
Work Schedule:
• Migration Windows: 8:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Local store US time zones)
• Daily Recaps: 7:00-8:00 AM CST
• Flexible schedule based on store migration calendar
• Potential for multiple time zones depending on store locations

Required Skills & Experience
Expertise in Juniper EX4100 and Meraki MS210 switch configuration, management, and troubleshooting, including stacking (e.g., Juniper Virtual Chassis).
Proven ability to support network switch migrations in enterprise/retail settings, guiding technicians remotely during cutovers.
Strong skills in resolving configuration issues (e.g., VLANs, ports) and validating device connectivity (POS, WiFi APs) in real-time.
Clear communication for real-time guidance and participation in daily recaps (7:00-8:00 AM CST).
Ability to maintain accurate migration logs and configuration records.
Availability for migration windows (8:00 PM - 2:00 AM, US time zones) and adaptable to store migration calendar.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIS-ENT) or Meraki certifications (e.g., CMNA).
Experience directly managing switch pre-staging or vendor interactions.
Comfort working across multiple US time zones.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark) for enhanced troubleshooting.
