As a Business Analyst/Product Owner at a large retail company, you will engage in daily activities that include conducting intake discussions with business owners to gather and document requirements for loyalty systems while collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand challenges and priorities for the next 2+ years. You will lead product development efforts, focusing on loyalty systems and supporting the transition of legacy applications (e.g., Guidewire) and modernized stacks (e.g., AG stack), taking ownership post-go-live and managing ongoing support and enhancements. Your role involves addressing production issues by coordinating with business and technical teams, preparing detailed documentation using tools like Excel, Lupus, or Asana, and adapting to the teams preferred tools without delays. Additionally, you will facilitate meetings with business owners and senior leadership, including SVPs, to ensure alignment, work with vendors to validate technical details for applications and collaborate with HR and leadership to clarify team reporting structures as projects transition from other leads. The team is looking for a candidate local to CHI who can commute into the Lincolnshire office 3x a week and travel at max once a quarter (to CO and CA). 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Product Owner, with a proven track record in gathering requirements and leading product development
Self-starter mentality with the ability to independently drive initiatives without needing constant oversight
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills to set up meetings, document requirements thoroughly, and prepare projects for execution.
Comfortable engaging with senior leadership (e.g., SVPs, EVPs) to ask questions, gather insights, and present findings.
Proficient in using various documentation tools (e.g., Excel, Lupus, Asana) and adaptable to new tools as needed.
Ability to work in a primary office location in Lincolnshire, IL, with occasional travel (e.g., one trip per quarter to Denver or California for business planning).
Strong understanding of loyalty systems (ideally from retail, insurance, or roadside assistance industries)
Experience in the retail, RV, camping, or outdoor recreation industry.
Familiarity with modernizing legacy systems or working with Guidewire or similar platforms.
Previous exposure to call center operations or extended warranty applications.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment with shifting team structures.
Knowledge of Java, C#, or C++ to better collaborate with technical teams and vendors on backend-focused projects.
