Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to provide technical and strategic leadership for evaluating and optimizing product migration plans from on-premises data centers to AWS. This role operates at the intersection of SRE, cloud architecture, and business strategy, with responsibility for shaping migration direction, challenging assumptions, and driving better outcomes across multiple teams and portfolios.
As a Staff-level engineer, you will influence without direct ownership, serve as a technical authority, and raise the overall quality of migration planning by identifying risks early, improving cost efficiency, compressing timelines, and ensuring operational readiness at scale.

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, infrastructure, or cloud architecture roles, with experience operating at Staff or equivalent level.
• Proven experience assessing or leading large-scale on-prem to AWS migrations in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of:
o Distributed systems and multi-tier application architectures
o On-prem infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, virtualization)
o AWS services, design patterns, and tradeoffs at scale
• Strong ability to reason about application dependencies and failure domains.
• Strong skills in dependency analysis tools and architecture visualization (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
Strategic & Business Acumen
• Demonstrated ability to influence architectural and migration decisions at scale without direct authority.
• Comfortable challenging plans and priorities in a constructive, executive-ready manner.
• Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating cost models, delivery risk, and operational tradeoffs.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical topics in business terms.
