Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to collaborate with classroom personnel in developing, implementing, and monitoring educational and clinical programs that support occupational therapy goals for students K-8th grade with autism and related disabilities. This role focuses on delivering effective therapy interventions, fostering student independence, and ensuring alignment with individualized education plans (IEPs) and organizational standards.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members using various modes while adhering to ethical and legal standards (AOTA Code of Ethics, FERPA).
• Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and IEP team to develop, implement, and monitor measurable, age-appropriate therapy goals.
• Plan and deliver occupational therapy sessions aligned with classroom activities, maintaining accurate documentation and reports.
• Provide consultation and support to families and outside agencies, attend IEP meetings, and adapt/create equipment as needed.
Participate in professional development, comply with organizational policies, and perform additional duties as assigned, including substitute roles.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active COTA license in the state of Illinois / Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Mentally and emotionally prepared to provide responsible care for children, including those with disabilities.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a school setting with children (Pre-K–8th grade) diagnosed with autism or related disorders.
