Job Description

Day to Day
○ This individual will be responsible for both patient care and administrative duties at Illinois Cancer Specialists in Crystal Lake , IL. They will be in charge of directing patients to exam rooms, checking them in, making sure their records are on file and up to date, be aware of what treatments the patient has that day and has had in the past, drawing blood, disinfecting exam rooms, answering patient questions and phone calls, taking notes, etc.

Responsibilities:
○ Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
○ Provide collaborative nursing support.
○ Maintain efficient patient flow.
○ Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
○ Administer appropriate injections.
○ Take vitals.
○ Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
○ Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
Other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Must haves
○ High School diploma or GED
2 years of experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses
○ Experience in an oncology setting required
○ Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
Phlebotomy skills highly desired
