Job Description
The temporary Director, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting will be responsible for general ledger accounting, monthly close, consolidation, financial reporting, technical accounting, accounting policy, working with external auditors, and other ad hoc projects.
Responsible for leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and preparation of internal and external financial statements and footnote disclosure in adherence with U.S. GAAP
Lead the annual audit process and work with external auditors to complete year-end financial audits
Research technical accounting matters and document positions in accounting memos
Continuously improve accounting processes to ensure quality, efficiencies, and transparency
Set high standards for quality work, critical thinking, business insights and a process-driven approach
Interpret complex accounting topics for leadership to make informed business decisions
Develop, implement, and maintain effective policies and procedures that reflect strong internal controls
Collaborate with senior executives and across functions such as Treasury, Tax, FP&A, HR and others
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 10 years overall professional experience in Financial Reporting and/or Technical Accounting
- 4-6 years experience in preparation of financial statements, leading audits, overseeing debt & equity journal entry balances
- Proficient experience in Netsuite
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting specifically
- CPA license
- Proficient experience in Salesforce
- Experience in M&A integration
- Working with smaller organizations that dont necessarily have documented process/in policies in place (ability to be adaptable here)
