Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Mobile Engineering Technician responsible for supporting the operational maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repair of commercial and industrial facilities across assigned sites. This role is primarily HVAC-focused (approximately 80% of the work) and involves traveling between rural depot-style facilities to perform preventive maintenance and corrective work on systems up to 20 tons, including compressors, motors, pumps, boilers, refrigeration, electrical, lighting, and life-safety systems. The technician will complete 2–3 work orders daily using a CMMS or similar work order system, and will utilize a company vehicle.
The Mobile Engineering Technician performs inspections, testing, calibration, and repairs while maintaining clean, safe work areas and complying with OSHA, state, municipal, and company safety policies. The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, EPA certification, and a strong working knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, with additional general maintenance skills such as plumbing, carpentry, and painting. The technician communicates repair status to a lead maintenance technician or manager, coordinates with vendors as needed, participates in ongoing training, and may be on-call during nights, weekends, or holidays to support client needs with flexibility and professionalism.
