Job Description

The Accountant is a critical operational role within our client's Corporate Accounting & Treasury team. This position is primarily responsible for performing daily reconciliations across multiple bank accounts, ensuring that all general ledger and bank cash transactions are accurately recorded, matched, and resolved in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, an ability to effectively operate with high-volume transaction processing, and a commitment to accuracy in support of broader cash management and financial close objectives. More responsibilities will be added as the role progresses.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Bank Reconciliations (Primary):
Perform daily reconciliation of all assigned bank accounts, matching bank statement activity to general ledger cash entries and identifying, researching, and resolving all outstanding items.
Identify and escalate unreconciled items, aged differences, or unusual transactions to senior accounting staff in a timely manner.
Maintain a log of open reconciling items with clear documentation of status, root cause, and expected resolution date.
Ensure all reconciliations are completed with established close times (daily, weekly, and month-end).
Ensure all bank statements are in "approved" status.

General Ledger & Bookkeeping:
Post journal entries as needed related to bank activity, including cash receipts, disbursements, bank fees, GL period reclasses, and other cash transactions.
Maintain accurate subledger and general ledger cash account balances across multiple legal entities and bank accounts.
Support the month-end close process by preparing reconciliation workpapers and providing documentation as needed for internal review

Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with applicable teams in Financial Management (i.e. AP, AR, Payroll, Benefits and Treasury) to research and resolve discrepancies at their source.
Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding bank account activity and cash balances in a timely, professional manner.

Required Skills & Experience

1-2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial operations role.
Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliations, preferably across multiple accounts.
Experience working in a month-end close environment.
MS Excel
General Ledger accounting concepts (debit/credit cards, journal entries)
Various transaction types that flow through bank accounts (checks, deposits, lockboxes.
Familiarity with GAAP cash accounting principles.
Ability to handle a high volume of transactions.
Strong organization and documentation skills.
RELIABLE and committed to hitting daily and weekly KPIs
