Insight Globals large manufacturing client is looking for an Electrical Engineer/Designer to join the technical engineering team. They will report directly to the Electrical Design Supervisor. The Electrical Engineer/Designer will work directly with office personnel, plant personnel, Project Managers and other disciplines to develop and modify electrical design. They will perform calculations, create/modify drawings, write scope of works, coordinate with outside contractors and vendors and make site visits to plants as the need arises. Additionally, they will write specifications, develop preliminary designs, MTOs and man-hour estimates.
MCC schematic development/creation
Prepare of MCC, VFD, and IO/PLC components equipment specifications
Sizing of equipment/instruments
Electrical calculations
Single line diagrams
Prepare fabrication packages for VFDs, MCCs, Control Panels, including equipment specifications
Design cable tray and lighting layouts
Design of power panel schedules
Develop wiring block diagrams

10+ years of electrical design experience with power and controls
Experienced with Low and Medium Voltage designs (480V and lower)
Experience with control panel/station layout, IO schematic creation, wiring diagrams, and electrical equipment layouts (power, instrument, and ground plans)
Ability to work in the field and do site assessments
Proficient in AutoCAD and Plant 3D
Strong experience with industrial facilities like oil and gas.
