We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented UX, Design Systems Lead Manager to lead the creation, optimization, and governance of our design system. This role requires deep expertise in Figma, UI tokens, and design-to-development workflows, as well as a strategic mindset to foster collaboration across teams. Required Skills & Experience
Key Responsibilities:
Design System Ownership: Build, maintain, and continuously optimize the design system to meet the needs of enterprise-grade applications and software. Ensure consistency, scalability, and usability across all components and patterns.
Figma Expertise: Serve as the teams Figma expert, developing and managing UI tokens, components, and libraries while leveraging plugins for seamless integration with development workflows.
Documentation: Design, write, and maintain comprehensive and accessible design system documentation, ensuring clarity and usability for both designers and developers.
Governance & Collaboration: Lead design system governance in partnership with development, analytics, IT, and related experts. Ensure alignment with organizational priorities, user needs, and technical feasibility.
Communication: Craft and distribute clear, engaging communications, including emails, updates, and presentations, to keep a global user base informed about design system evolution and best practices.
Roadmap Management: Oversee contributions from designers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Manage progress against planned roadmaps and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
Continuous Improvement: Research and implement best practices for enterprise design systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation to support evolving user and business needs.
Team Collaboration: Align with the teams mission-driven and collaborative culture, fostering curiosity and a sense of ownership among all contributors.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with significant experience managing design systems for enterprise applications.
Figma Expertise: Mastery of Figma, including UI tokens, component creation, library management, and plugin usage.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with design-to-development workflows, including tools and technologies such as tokens, CSS frameworks, and development pipelines.
Documentation Skills: Proven ability to write and design user-friendly documentation for a global audience.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience crafting updates and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
Governance Experience: Strong understanding of design system governance, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and maintaining alignment across departments.
Leadership: Experience managing contributions from designers and engineers, ensuring alignment with roadmaps and deadlines.
Continuous Improvement: Curiosity and passion for staying updated on design system trends, enterprise design challenges, and optimization strategies.
Culture Fit: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a mission-driven, collaborative, and curious team environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working on global teams or within large organizations.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and how they apply to design systems.
Background in branding or visual identity systems
Experience managing system level QA and, coding React and Angular code libraries
