Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Center Technician to join one of our largest Healthcare clients. The data center technician (DCT) will be responsible for ensuring all work being performed in the data center meets or exceeds best practices and NYUMCIT standards. Ensure the reliability and uptime of the environment is never at risk. The DCT will have the knowledge of hardware, network, storage, cabling, cooling and power distribution within the environment. The DCT will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the data center and supporting infrastructure that includes and is not limited to servers, storage arrays, network switches and MOAs. Ensure the security of the data center that is not limited to escorting and supervision of anyone who is not an NYU employee.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
3-5 years experience as a Data Center Technician or within the Structured Cabling space in an enterprise environment
Extensive experience with structured cabling products (copper and fiber) and standards
Proficiency in BICSI cabling standards
Hands on experience with IDF Closet maintenance and fiber optic testing
Knowledge of power (UPS systems) and cooling systems as it related to IT support environments
- Associates degree in technology field or comparable experience of 2+ yrs
