Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong foundation in sustainability and finance, as well as hands-on experience working with utility invoices and large, complex datasets. The ideal candidate will support utility and sustainability data accuracy, cost optimization, and data-driven decision-making across utility spend and related environmental initiatives. This individual will bring experience or interest in sustainability, energy management, or ESG reporting and will be comfortable interpreting data to drive actionable insights for finance, real estate, and leadership stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will analyze, validate, and input utility invoice data—including electric, gas, water, and waste—into tracking systems while ensuring billing accuracy and contract compliance. They will perform data cleansing, normalization, and quality checks across multiple data sources, while also supporting the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations. Additionally, this individual will contribute to environmental initiatives by preparing data for energy usage, emissions tracking, and Scope 1, 2, and utility-related Scope 3 reporting. They will maintain strong data integrity through thorough documentation of methodologies and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, external vendors, and utility providers.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field

6 months+ of experience in a data analyst, financial analyst, or similar role

Demonstrated experience working with utility invoices and utility data

Strong financial acumen, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliation

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros preferred)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platform

Experience within sustainability or commercial real estate environment
