Job Description

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SOC team, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, response, and mitigation of security incidents. This role involves managing a team of analysts, implementing security best practices, and coordinating with other departments to maintain a robust security posture. This is a technical and hands on position that requires in-depth knowledge of security tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the SOC team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
Oversee the continuous monitoring of security events and incidents across the organization's networks, systems, and applications.
Develop, implement, and enforce SOC processes, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure timely detection, investigation, and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
Collaborate with other departments and external partners to improve the organizations overall security posture.
Evaluate and implement advanced security technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance SOC capabilities.
Conduct regular threat assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk management reviews.
Prepare and deliver reports on SOC performance, incident response metrics, and security trends to executive leadership.
Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CCPA).
Respond to security audits and support incident response exercises and simulations.
Create and maintain documentation (e.g. SOPs for incident response)

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a SOC or equivalent environment.
Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls).
