Job Description

A System Administrator/ISSO (Information System Security Officer) role combines system administration responsibilities with information security duties. They are responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of computer systems, including coordinating with network administrators, while also ensuring the security of those systems by implementing and maintaining security controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related role
Experience providing technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches
Ability to install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems
Experience with managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts
A strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Network+, or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification(s)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting the Intelligence Community or a DoD, Army, or Joint Staff classified program
Experience as a U.S. Army Information Management Officer and/or coordinating across multiple organizations including Signal Brigades, Army offices, INSCOM, DoD CIO, DIA, GISA, NEC
Experience with unified communications (VoIP Phones, DVTC, VTC) installation, configuration, and management
Familiarity with database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS)
Ability to assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology deployments
Experience with Kanban, Agile, or project management applications and methodologies
