One of Insight Globals major clients are seeking a senior-level Physical Substation Design Engineer to join their organization. Primary responsibility will be producing physical and structural designs of electrical power substations or transmission lines. Additional responsibilities include:
Participates in development and review of design, material and equipment, and construction standards, specifications, and drawings for electric transmission projects.
Develops complete physical or structural design packages for substation or special engineering projects of the highest complexity.
Conducts design reviews of design packages for complex projects prepared by others.
Coordinate the training of new design associates and conduct quality design reviews.
Conduct research, engineering studies, the evaluation and approval of materials, and design standards development.

Bachelors degree in engineering (electrical or civil preferred)
8-10+ years of experience in physical design of substations:
Physical layout design
Equipment sizing and specification
Design of grounding and lighting systems
Design of conduit and cable routing
Licensed PE (professional engineer)
Microsoft Word and Excel, and AutoCAD
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
Prior experience supporting a utility/energy provider
