Job Description

A partner of Insight Global is in search of a Director of IT. This person will have the opportunity to lead the strategic planning, development, and management of the company's technology infrastructure and systems to support solar cell manufacturing operations. This role ensures secure, reliable, and scalable IT solutions that enhance production efficiency, supply chain integration, data analytics, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the companys IT strategy aligned with business and manufacturing goals.
Oversee all IT operations including infrastructure, cybersecurity, helpdesk, network systems, and data management.
Manage and optimize manufacturing systems integration (e.g., MES, SCADA, PLC, ERP).
Lead ERP implementation or enhancement (e.g., Oracle, SAP) for inventory control, procurement, and production tracking.
Ensure cybersecurity best practices are implemented across systems and operations.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support automation and smart manufacturing initiatives.
Oversee vendor relationships and IT contracts, including hardware, software, and service providers.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and data backup plans.
Manage IT staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
Monitor emerging technologies relevant to clean energy manufacturing and recommend innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Masters preferred).
8+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience, including managing technical teams and projects.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems, industrial automation technologies, and cybersecurity.
Experience supporting compliance standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ITAR is a plus.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Background in solar, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing.
Familiarity with data analytics platforms, IoT systems, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
