Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership & Service Delivery

· Lead day-to-day operations of our MSP - global infrastructure across on-prem data centers, cloud environments, and hybrid models.

· Define and track SLAs, KPIs, and service health metrics to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.

· Implement best-in-class ITIL practices for incidents, problems, change, and capacity management.

· Ensure 24x7 operational support models for global workloads and client requirements.

2. Technical & Infrastructure Acumen

· Oversee administration and optimization of Windows, Linux, Unix servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).

· Lead network and security infrastructure operations including LAN, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.

· Drive excellence in storage, backup, and disaster recovery services.

· Manage public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) with focus on cost governance, automation, and cloud-native operations.

· Guide adoption of infrastructure automation (IaC), observability tools, and DevOps practices to improve resilience and speed.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance

· Ensure infrastructure compliance with enterprise standards, data residency, and regulatory requirements.

· Develop and manage a governance framework for patching, configuration, and lifecycle management.

· Service Management & ITIL process familiarity (incident, change, problem, SLA mgmt.)

· Lead preparation and response for infrastructure audits, DR drills, and capacity assessments.

4. People Leadership & Culture

· Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing infrastructure operations teams, spanning systems, cloud, storage, and network.

· Invest in training and certification programs to ensure teams remain current with emerging technologies.

· Foster a culture of operational discipline, innovation, and service excellence.

5. Business Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement

· Act as the trusted advisor for executives, business units, and customers on infrastructure strategy and operations.

· Deliver executive dashboards and operational reporting on uptime, performance, and efficiency.

· Partner with application, cybersecurity, and product teams to ensure infrastructure services enable business outcomes.

· Engage in vendor management and strategic sourcing to optimize costs and service quality.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Experience

· 15–18 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure operations, with at least 8+ years in senior leadership roles.

· Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure environments across & service delivery teams operating into on-prem and hybrid data centers, networks, and cloud platforms.

· Strong technical knowledge of:

o Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux, Unix.

o Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP (multi-cloud operations desirable).

o Networks: LAN/WAN, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN.

o Storage & Backup: SAN, NAS, backup technologies (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup).

o Virtualization & Containers: VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Docker.

· Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python) and observability tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus).

· Relevant certifications strongly preferred but not mandatory:

o Cloud: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect.

o Systems: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

o Virtualization/Containers: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

o Networking/Storage: CCNP/CCIE, NetApp/EMC certifications.

o ITIL v4 or equivalent service management credential.

· Strong ability to influence C-level stakeholders, manage vendors, and deliver transformation programs.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· An MBA or master’s degree in technology or business management is preferred.
