Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Branch Operations Manager / General Manager for a top service-based operations client. This individual will be responsible for running the full day-to-day operations of a local branch, overseeing drivers, routes, safety, staffing, and fleet readiness. This is a highly hands-on leadership role focused on operational excellence rather than traditional P&L ownership. The ideal candidate is comfortable being in the field, partnering closely with an Ops Supervisor and shop team, and ensuring the branch runs smoothly every single day. This role offers strong compensation, attainable bonuses, and the opportunity to lead a critical operation within a growing, PE-backed organization.

Run the entire day-to-day operation of the branch
Ensure the branch is fully staffed daily; adjust routes and stops as needed
Oversee 25–35 drivers and coordinate closely with the Operations Supervisor
Conduct daily route monitoring, safety meetings, and morning huddles
Ensure trucks are ready and operational each day
Partner closely with the shop on vehicle readiness and maintenance needs
Manage trash can inventory and ordering
Move stops and routes based on staffing and availability
Handle hiring through LinkedIn/Indeed, including application review and interview scheduling
Perform ride-alongs and street/route inspections
Maintain building and yard standards per company systems
Track payroll numbers and ensure payroll targets are met
High-level budgeting responsibility (payroll targets provided; no P&L ownership)
Oversee all lines of business within the branch
Ensure safety standards are met and documented consistently

Vehicle allowance
Monthly bonus: $1,000–$1,500

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:

1–2+ years of people management or leadership experience
Experience overseeing daily operations in a service-based business
Ability to manage 25–35 direct reports (drivers/operators)
Strong operational execution and day-to-day problem solving
Comfortable owning staffing, scheduling, and route readiness
Familiarity with safety meetings, huddles, and compliance oversight
Experience with hiring processes (applications, interviews, onboarding coordination)
High accountability for attendance, payroll numbers, and vacation tracking
Willingness to be hands-on and visible in the field (ride-alongs, inspections)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Waste, recycling, portable sanitation, pest control, or similar service industry experience
Background in PE-backed or metrics-driven environments
Prior GM, Branch Manager, or Ops Manager experience
Exposure to route-based or logistics-heavy operations
Experience working closely with shop/mechanics or fleet operations
