Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Engineer or Engineering Technologist to join our utility construction team in Northeast Georgia. This role is ideal for a seasoned lineman transitioning into engineering and construction management, with hands-on experience in inspection, surveying, and utility coordination. The successful candidate will support design-build projects, utility adjustment schedules, and public/private infrastructure initiatives, particularly those involving GDOT standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support utility construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with GDOT and local regulations.
Conduct field inspections and surveys to assess existing utility infrastructure and identify potential conflicts.
Develop and manage Utility Adjustment Schedules (UAS) and coordinate with stakeholders using GUPS and GPAS platforms.
Collaborate with design teams on GDOT design-build projects, ensuring utility considerations are integrated early in the process.
Interface with public agencies, private developers, and utility owners to facilitate project approvals and utility relocations.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field crews transitioning into engineering roles.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for utility coordination and construction activities.

Required Skills & Experience
Familiarity with GDOT design-build processes and standards.
Proficiency in GUPS (Georgia Utility Permitting System) and GPAS (Georgia Project Accounting System).
Experience with surveying tools and techniques.
Strong communication and coordination skills with public and private stakeholders.
Knowledge of utility inspection protocols and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and utility maps.
Experience working on infrastructure projects in Northeast Georgia.
Comfortable with both office and field work environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a lineman with a strong understanding of utility systems and construction practices.
Education within a Structural, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Design backgrounds
