Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join a large energy management company within their Building Automation Systems (BAS) team. This resource will be responsible for project coordination, safety, software checkout, commissioning, and software troubleshooting. Additionally, you will ensure that daily activities on site for projects are completed. You will have the opportunity to develop and refine your technical and leadership skills as you gain and apply your knowledge with the goal of simultaneously advancing your personal brand. This role offers a competitive salary of $105,000-110,000 based on years of experience. Additional responsibilities are below.

Ensuring all design engineer activity is aligned with latest conformed construction documents prior to installation.
Modifying and updating design drawings and maintaining red line documents.
Collaborating with project manager and procurement personnel on purchasing activity and monitoring budget risks.
Ensuring materials are being delivered to site or subcontractors for installation.
Validating hardware and project installation meet design requirements.
Diagnosing communication problems, troubleshooting, and tracking software and hardware issues.
Participating in field quality control or safety audits and reviewing analysis and results.
Coordinating with on-site contractors for the installation of equipment based on shop drawings.
Acting as primary point of contact for subcontractors during installation phase.
Coordinating and addressing issues during installation phase independently.
Collaborating with the Project Manager to coordinate projects through the installation phase and provide feedback for manpower requirements.
Contributing to a complete operation to service turnover process.
Responsibility for overall system functionality/performance.
Setup of outside ISP connections and remote connectivity to customer sites

Required Skills & Experience

o Minimum 4 years of experience as a Systems Application or Field Engineer in BAS or related industries.
o Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, security installations, and building automation technologies.
o Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, submittals, and specifications.
o Strong experience with graphic programming and line scripting on BAS platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls).
o Experience with networking hardware and cybersecurity configurations.
o Ability to coordinate field activities and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
o Basic programming and troubleshooting skills for control systems.
o Working knowledge of operator workstations, graphics, and software development tools.
