Job Description:
- As Product Development Engineer Manager, you will lead the technical development and implementation of new products across internal manufacturing, outsourced production, and purchased goods. You will oversee engineering projects from concept through launch, mentor technical staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, cost, and timeline objectives are met. This role combines engineering expertise with leadership and strategic planning to drive innovation and deliver high-quality products to market.

Day-to-day:
- Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through launch, ensuring alignment with product, cost, and timeline goals
- Mentor and guide engineers and technical staff in product design, development, and testing
- Collaborate with Product Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to define scope and implementation plans
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications and test plans
- Facilitate design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement in product performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Stay informed on market trends and emerging technologies relevant to the product portfolio
- Support the development and execution of business plans related to product development
- Define, develop, and improve engineering processes, tools, and metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to structured product innovation and engineering excellence

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• 5–7 years of experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
• 3–5 years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role
• Experience in product design verification and validation
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles (e.g., statistics, dynamics, thermodynamics)
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Wrike, MS Project)
• Program management leadership experience with knowledge of fundamental statistics
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, stamping, injection molding, forging, heat treat, and metallurgy
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and drive them to completion
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments
• Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead across departments and engage with executive leadership

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses
• Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
• HVAC/HVACR product design experience
• SolidWorks experience
• Experience working with Asian vendors or international manufacturing partners
