Job Description

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Property / Facility Condition Assessor with strong technical writing abilities and deep experience conducting detailed assessments across commercial and municipal properties. This individual will perform equity‑level Property Condition Assessments (PCA) and Facility Condition Assessments (FCA), producing high‑quality technical reports supported by sound engineering judgment.
The role requires a balance of field assessment work, strategic thinking, client communication, and detailed report preparation. The ideal candidate has a track record of stability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed Property Condition Assessments and Facility Condition Assessments for commercial, municipal, and institutional buildings (fire stations, police stations, city halls, and other civic structures).
Evaluate all major building systems, including envelope, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Prepare clear, technically accurate written reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and capital expenditure forecasts.
Manage multiple simultaneous projects while meeting tight deadlines.
Communicate directly with clients, project teams, and sub‑consultants.
Perform social media and background checks as required for internal compliance.
Provide (or be able to provide upon request) previous written report samples or redacted technical writing demonstrating assessment skill and technical writing competency.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related A/E (Architecture/Engineering) discipline.
5+ years of experience performing equity‑level and/or detailed Property or Facility Condition Assessments (3 years acceptable with an applicable degree).
Strong, well-rounded understanding of all major building systems.
Demonstrated technical writing and expository report development skills.
Strong client‑facing communication and organization capabilities.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively with larger project teams.
Ability to think strategically and solve complex field and building‑system problems.
Demonstrated career stability and consistent job tenure.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Willing to travel 2-3 nights a week every other week.
