Job Description

A quick service restaurant client of Insight Global is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join their Reliability & Monitoring team in developing an internal Status Page product. The ideal candidate will have NextJS and React on the front end, heavy API development in either Java/Go/Python on the backend, along with Cloud & DevOps expertise around AWS. The pay rate for this role ranges between $70-80/hour based on years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Frontend Technologies
• Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, routing, API routes, optimization)
• React ecosystem knowledge
o React Hooks, Context API, state management patterns
o Client/server components (in modern Next.js)
• TypeScript proficiency
• UI frameworks & component libraries
o Tailwind CSS
o Material UI, Chakra UI, Radix UI, or similar
• HTML5/CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, responsive design)
• Basic UI/UX Principles
o Wireframing & low fidelity prototyping
o Understanding of usability heuristics
o Ability to translate concepts into interactive prototypes (e.g., Figma, Sketch, or similar)
Backend Technologies
• NestJS (modules, providers, controllers, dependency injection)
• TypeScript deep knowledge for backend architecture
• RESTful API and GraphQL design
• Authentication/Authorization
o JWT, OAuth2, session-based auth, or related standards
Database & Storage
• PostgreSQL
o Schema design, indexing, performance basics
o Experience with ORMs such as Prisma or TypeORM
• Amazon DynamoDB
o Single-table design
o Understanding partitions, sort keys, and query patterns
o Experience with AWS SDK & DynamoDB best practices
Cloud & DevOps
• AWS Services (preferred)
o Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, SNS/SQS
o IAM fundamentals
• CI/CD Pipelines
o GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
• Containerization
o Docker basics, familiarity with container orchestration concepts
Development Practices
• Version control with Git
• Automated testing
o Jest, React Testing Library, or similar
• Clean architecture and design patterns
• Agile/Scrum practices
• Code review and collaboration skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with microservices in TypeScript/NestJS
• Knowledge of Serverless frameworks
• Experience with Edge runtimes (Vercel, Cloudflare Workers)
• Understanding of performance optimization (frontend & backend)
